I am Caroline Gröne, born in Kenya and currently residing in Hamburg, Germany. I graduated as a kindergarten assistant here in Hamburg and work in an international kindergarten, where I was given the opportunity to further my education. Since 2020, I have been pursuing state-recognized training as an educator with a focus on special education at the State Technical School for Social Pedagogy in Hamburg-Altona.

As the founder and chairwoman of Never Give Up Förderverein e.V., I am committed to social work, aiming to share my skills with others and collaboratively develop resource-oriented approaches to address individual challenges. The idea of founding Never Give Up Förderverein e.V. has been a vision of mine since childhood. I lost my parents when I was eleven years old and had to forgo my own childhood to ensure that of my seven siblings. I managed my parents’ grocery store, which enabled me to finance my siblings’ living expenses. The cries of my youngest sister, who was 11 months old at the time, presented a significant challenge. I spent sleepless nights holding her, reassuring her that everything was okay and that we must not give up. The phrase “never give up” became my mantra during these difficult times, highlighting the importance of being there for one another.

Together with my team, I am deeply committed to child welfare and women’s rights, both domestically and internationally. Our systemic approach focuses on viewing the situations of women, children, and young people in a circular rather than causal manner. We support them in Germany and developing countries to secure their basic rights, thereby creating a foundation for sustainably improved living conditions.
